Overview of the Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) Course
The Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) is a required certification for individuals who need to communicate on an Aeronautical Radio Frequency. The course will cover the competency items listed in the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) Part 61 Manual of Standards set out by The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
The course is broken down into 3 Parts:
- Organising your Aviation Reference Number;
- Completing this online theoretical course;
- Completing a face-to-face English assessment, and practical radio operating assessment.
Throughout the online component of this course, you will learn:
- Basics of radio wave propagation;
- How to use an aeronautical radio;
- Standard radio phraseology;
- The Phonetic Alphabet;
- Emergency radio procedures.
